Titan, nickel and stainless steel: reference data for improved 3D printing

The German Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung examined the elastic properties of three metal alloys. The results showed a clear dependence on the construction direction during 3D printing. The data has now been published.

High-Power IR Fabry-Pérot Laser Diodes

The The high-power IR Fabry-Pérot laser diodes from the FNPL series are available with any wavelength between 1950 nm and 2350 nm with an accuracy of ± 20 nm. Other wavelengths available on request. The output power of up to 1 W yields a strong signal and gives large flexibility for many applications such as security measures, range finding and gas sensing.

Polycyclic molecules play a major role for applications in organic semiconductors. Researchers have succeeded in synthesizing a phosphorus-nitrogen compound that should enable new optoelectronic properties in organic semiconductors. 

AI for perovskite solar cells: the key to better production

In order to use thin films of perovskite in solar cells, these films must be produced cost-effectively and in the highest quality in a scalable manner. An image-based photoluminescence measurement with innovative AI evaluation provides specific parameters for solar cell production. 

Nanophotonic particle acceleration awarded

X-ray sources are based on the principle of electron acceleration in a vacuum. Dr. Roy Shiloh showed that electrons can also be accelerated in nanophotonic structures in chip format. The physicist received the X-ray prize from Justus Liebig University Gießen for his work.

Pulsar Photonics: new headquarters in Aachen

10 years after the company was founded, all business divisions will be consolidated at its location in Aachen. The final step will be the relocation of the headquarters from Herzogenrath to a new company building, for which the ground-breaking ceremony has now taken place.
