Holotomographic microscopy: red blood cells in focus

A laser-based method that is very similar to tomography is suitable for observing microscopic samples in real time. Biologists have now used this method to show how ibuprofen changes the shape of red blood cells.

Photo battery reaches the voltage required for IIoT devices

Photobatteries combine the generation, conversion and storage of energy in a compact system. Using organic multi-junction solar cells and a dual ion battery, a voltage has been achieved for the first time that enables the self-sufficient operation of small devices such as those used in industrial IoT. 

CMOS-based beam caustic analyzer

The beam parameters of both continuous wave and pulsed lasers can be recorded with the new portable device from Ophir. The manufacturer promises a higher spatial resolution, better scanning accuracy and an improved signal-to-noise ratio with the CMOS-based camera. 

Optical fiber bundles for high-performance applications

The new generation of fibre bundles from Ceramoptec improve transmission and are thus also better suitable for the transmission of high-intensity light, among many other applications.

Cost-efficient 3D sensors

The sensors in the ECS series from AT - Automation Technology measure according to the principle of laser triangulation and have been specially developed as compact, low-cost devices. They are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications without compromising on too much performance.
