Small and configurable – spectrometers for industry, medicine and science

Fraunhofer researchers have developed a versatile spectrometer platform based on MEMS for analysing organic substances. The specifications can be customised for OEMs. The hardware is also designed for cost-effective series production.

Long haul quantum communications

The range for transmitting quantum-encrypted information using light is limited, as the signal cannot be easily amplified. A new approach aims to use the thin atmosphere at an altitude of over 10 kilometres to achieve long distances.

Qubits: With matching frequency into the optical fibre

Qubits in optical quantum systems usually have wavelengths that cannot be coupled into conventional telecom fibres. A special frequency converter is intended to provide a solution without losing the quantum properties.

iC-Haus celebrates forty years

iC-Haus has been developing and manufacturing microelectronics for industrial customers in Bodenheim near Mainz since 1984. The location is still the same – but the company has grown into an international player.

New leadership at Instrument Systems

As part of the two-year rotation cycle, Dr Yuta Yamanoi has now taken over the position of Managing Director alongside CEO Dr Markus Ehbrecht. Yamanoi has been working in colour and light measurement technology for more than 20 years.
