Silicon-based photodiodes for cheaper IR-sensors
A new research project aims at a considerable improvement of the infrared light sensitivity of silicon photodiodes, so that they can be used as low-cost IR sensors. Therefore, the diodes will be specially structured on the surface and they will also receive an additional thin metal layer for improved quantum efficiency.
